I love Gervais/Aveda. I have come to the same wonderful lady for years, Kelsey. She and everyone at the studio is great, but having my hair colored, shampooed and cut, every 5-6 weeks, is quite expensive. Lately I've noticed that if I don't tip a huge amount, I get this request to complete a survey, as if my stylist did something wrong. Stop torturing your staff with survey worry! While I have often tipped 20% or more, sometimes I tip 15%, because, $200 is a lot of money. It depends on what I have to give that month; the tip is a gift, and I'm paying a lot for the service (and therefore I expect Gervais is paying my stylist appropriately and not relying on my tip to pay staff). The service is great, and Kelsey my stylist is great. Please pay your stylists appropriately, don't expect my tips to make up the shortfall, and stop sending survey requests.
